Mr. Graybill grew up in central Pennsylvania and has spent over two decades using band as a way to help students find belonging, purpose, and pride in shared work and experiences. He earned his Bachelor of Music Education degree from James Madison University and went on to complete a Master of Music Education from Lebanon Valley College. In 2021, he received his Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Regent University.
Mr. Graybill began his teaching career in 2001, working with both middle and high school students in Texas, then Pennsylvania. His programs were known for their strong fundamentals, musical integrity, and inclusive spirit. In addition to his classroom work, he mentored new teachers, contributed to curriculum writing teams, organized regional music festivals, special performances, and marching events that celebrated student achievement and community connection. His ensembles collaborated with guest artists such as clarinetist, Julie DeRoche and hornist, Lisa Bontrager, and his work was recognized in national publications for its creativity and student engagement.
In 2018, he moved to the Hampton Roads area and began his tenure at Great Bridge Middle School. At GBMS, Mr. Graybill fosters a culture built on curiosity, teamwork, and steady growth. His students consistently earn Superior ratings at district assessments and take part in creative performance projects, including multimedia concerts and other creative experiences. He especially enjoys the energy, humor, and transformation that are unique to the middle school years—and finds joy in watching students surprise themselves.
Outside the classroom, Mr. Graybill has conducted student ensembles through eight European countries as part of the American Music Abroad Silver Tour, helping young musicians share their craft and build cultural bridges through performance. He also enjoys personal travel and outdoor exploration, often seeking out art, history, and hidden-gem cafés along the way. He shares life with his partner, Stephanie, and their two entertaining cats, Artie and Sherlock. Whether close to home or farther afield, he finds inspiration in the everyday moments that connect people, music, and meaning.

A classically trained saxophonist and clarinetist, Mr. Glosser earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Old Dominion University, where he studied with the renowned Dennis Zeisler. His teaching career includes positions at Grassfield and Oscar Smith High Schools, where he earned three Virginia Honor Band Awards—one of the state’s highest recognition's for musical achievement and program excellence.
Mr. Glosser is passionate about developing both the musical skills and personal growth of his students. He creates a positive, energetic, and inclusive learning environment where young musicians are challenged, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential. His ensembles consistently earn superior ratings at district assessments and festivals, and his students regularly qualify for district and regional honor bands.
Before joining Great Bridge Middle School, Mr. Glosser worked as a high school band director, marching band director, and music arranger. He remains an active performer and educator in the Chesapeake area, frequently collaborating with local ensembles and supporting youth music initiatives.
In addition to his work in the band room, Mr. Glosser is committed to building a strong sense of community and belonging among his students. He is known for his creative programming, thoughtful approach to student leadership, and dedication to making band an inclusive and welcoming space for all.
Outside of teaching, Mr. Glosser enjoys spending time with his wife and their young son, who already loves dancing along to music in the band room! His wife, Jessica, is the owner of a successful local dance studio, and together they share a passion for the performing arts and arts education in the community. When he’s not in the band room, you can often find Mr. Glosser cooking, working on DIY projects, or cheering on his family at dance competitions and recitals.

Mrs. Rooksby is a graduate of James Madison University, she brings a wealth of musical experience to her work as a private flute instructor, where she enjoys mentoring the next generation of flutists with patience and precision.
She actively performs with the Virginia Wind Symphony, sharing her artistry with audiences across the region. In addition to her work with flute students, she also lends her rhythmic expertise to the marching arts, serving as a bass drum tech for local high school marching bands.
Outside the music world, she works as a paralegal, balancing her professional career with a deep commitment to her family. She lives with her husband and their two children, embracing the chaos and joy of a busy, music-filled life.
